We are THRILLED to have our
1st Valentine’s Day Drawing Contest!

Ok moms! Get out all those crayons and coloring pencils and markers! Grab your kids and ask them to draw something they LOVE! Set them to work but please don’t help them.  There is something so precious about a child’s drawing and seeing things through their eyes! Please have your child write a short note on the back describing what they drew and why.  And don’t worry, we are looking for drawings full of love not skill!

Giving Hope and Love

We have special plans for all the drawings we receive. We are honored to partner with CASA of Ventura County and will be giving all the drawings we receive to CASA of Ventura County. The drawings will be given to volunteers to give to the child they are advocating for in foster care. Our hope is that these drawings will provide some warmth and love when a child first meets their advocate, which can be a scary or uncomfortable situation for children. Your note on the back of the drawing will let the child know someone cares about them.

Who Is CASA of Ventura County

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Ventura County recruits, screens, trains, and supports volunteers who advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected court-dependent children in courtrooms and communities. A CASA volunteer becomes the voice for a child in foster care, and can truly make a life-long difference in their lives. A CASA is assigned to one local child in foster care (or sometimes sibling groups, depending on the need). They not only build a one-on-one relationship with them, but also collaborate with others who can offer insight into their well-being. The purpose is to provide the court with observations, evaluations, and informed recommendations for the child, which allow the judge to make decisions in the best interest of the child.
