Ok, ok I know! Everyone and their sister is going to make some type of dietary/lifestyle change for the New Year.  Maybe by the time you are reading this, you have already fallen short or given up on your goal. Change is hard!  Especially, if it is a lot of change all at once or very drastic in nature.  I just need it to be easy!  So I have put together 6 easy changes you can do to become healthier this year!   After making these changes, I hope you find new ones to continue.

6 Easy Changes

  1. Make H2O Your Best Friend –  Staying hydrated can truly change the way you look and feel. Look to increase your intake of hydrating foods and find a fun water bottle that encourages you to drink more water! Infused water might inspire you to drink even more.
  2. Eat Fried Foods the Smart Way – Let’s face it, we all love good salty, crispy fries! Instead of trying to completely cut them out, invest in a good air fryer.  Air fryers can fry items with way less oil—and therefore less fat.
  3. Find a New Nutritional App. – Maybe spend a little less time on Instagram and download a great new nutritional app.  These apps can help you find healthy snacks, track calories, track movement and find good places to eat.
  4.  Slow Down at Starbucks – No, we do not mean slow down on how many times you frequent Starbucks! That’s a hard habit to break!   It can be an easy change to slow down and really scan the menu to make a healthier choice.  Starbucks has all the nutritional information and calorie count.  You might be surprised to see how a simple change of fat-free milk or a smaller size can help you make a healthier choice.
  5. Walk and Talk – Every time you have a phone call, head outside and take a walk. It is an easy way to guarantee you are moving.
  6. Journal Your Way to Success – studies have shown that people are more successful at accomplishing their goals if they are written down. Consider writing down your goals or small steps towards being healthier.  Then take the time to journal about your journey.

Let’s Do This!!

I wish you all the best on your journey to become a healthier individual.  We all need to remember to take one small step at a time!  We can do this!
