The holiday magic in and around Ventura County is one of our favorite things about where we call home! From holiday festivals to magical theater to Christmas tree farms or ways to help others, we’ve got you covered. No matter how you choose to celebrate, we hope your holidays are merry and bright!

HOLIDAY EVENTS + ACTIVITIES

  1. SNOW N GLOW – HOLIDAY FESTIVAL
    Date:
     November 2021 – January 2022
    Duration: the visit will take approx. 90-120 minutes
    Location: Ventura County Fairgrounds and Event Center – Surfer’s Point Live. 10 W Harbor Blvd, Ventura, CA. 93001
    Age requirement: all ages are welcome! Children under 2 do not need a ticket to attend
    Price: tickets start at $20 for Adults and $15 for Children

Snow N Glow 2021 is the perfect winter playground: you can build a snowman, enjoy s’mores, drink hot chocolate, and so much more. Gather your friends and family and celebrate the holidays in Southern California’s very own Winter Wonderland.

2. WINTER WONDERLAND & HOLIDAY MARKETPLACE – Ventura Harbor Village
December 11, 2021
12PM – 4PM

SEAson’s Greetings from seaside Ventura Harbor Village. Rediscover the joy of holiday shopping while wandering through a festive holiday Village at the popular Winter Wonderland & Holiday Marketplace in Ventura Harbor Village on Saturday, December 11 , from Noon-  4 PM.

Live carolers and holiday music, faux snowfall for the kids, Santa & Mrs. Claus and their live reindeer, holiday gift specials, and much more await you and your loved ones, as the waterfront celebrates the joy of the season.

Come early for the annual Santa Paddle (11 AM ) and join in the fun dressing in your best red, white and green to paddle the water with Santa, with your own equipment or rentals with Ventura Boat Rentals. Then make a day of it with plans to stay and dine for dinner to watch as the Ventura Harbor Village transforms into a seasonal holiday display of lights and festive, colorful trees.

3. SANTA PADDLE – Ventura Harbor Village
December 11, 2021

The annual Santa Paddle (11 AM ) and join in the fun dressing in your best red, white and green to paddle the water with Santa, with your own equipment or rentals with Ventura Boat Rentals. Then make a day of it with plans to stay and dine for dinner to watch as the Ventura Harbor Village transforms into a seasonal holiday display of lights and festive, colorful trees.

5. KIDS CLUB – The Collection at RiverPark
December 1, 2021

On the first Wednesday of December, bring the kids and a picnic blanket and head over to the grass at Collection Park for a fun-filled morning of story time, crafts and fun surprises.

6. LETTERS TO SANTA – The Collections at RiverPark
November 17 to December 20

The elves at The Collection are ready to help make sure every holiday wish list makes it to the North Pole. Families are welcome to bring their own custom cards or write their special message on a complimentary postcard available at Guest Services and drop off letters to Santa in the special North Pole mailbox located on Collection Boulevard. The Collection will help carefully deliver letters written to Santa to ensure they are mailed and received at the North Pole where Santa and Mrs. Claus will reply to every letter that has a return address and is placed in the mailbox by Dec. 20.

7. GINGERBREAD SCAVENGER HUNT – The Collections at RiverPark
November 20- December 20

Add some extra fun to your visit with a seasonal scavenger hunt that will have you exploring every exciting nook and cranny of The Collection. Stop by Guest Services on Park View Court to pick up your Gingerbread Scavenger Hunt and begin the adventure! Once guests have completed the scavenger hunt and found all of the hidden gingerbread, they are invited back to Guest Services to enter to win a fun holiday surprise.

8. OXNARD HOLLY TROLLEY
December 14-18

Hop aboard a double-decker bus and tour Oxnard’s Downtown and Historic District’s holiday lights Dec. 14-16.

9.STREY CELLARS UGLY SWEATER PARTY
December 11, 2021
6PM – 10PM

On Saturday, December 11th from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm, wear the ugliest sweater you have for the 7th annual Ugly Sweater Party at Strey Cellars. There will be a photo booth, reindeer games, a live band and more!

10. 12TH ANNUAL GINGERBREAD HOUSE EXHIBIT & TOURS FEST
December 11 – January 2
11am-2pm
731 So A Street, Heritage Square Hall

(Evening and weekday group tours/viewing by appointment are available)

Come see the Square decorated at the best time of the year including a holiday inspired display of gingerbread creations at Heritage Square Hall. While visiting us, take our guided tour experience of the former houses’ exteriors w/select interiors.

Tours $5 per person (gingerbread exhibit free to view).

11. CHRISTMAS TREE LANE
DECEMBER 12 – 26
Henry T. Oxnard Historic District

Pour yourself some hot chocolate and walk or drive through this holiday wonderland of decorated houses on “F” & “G” Streets between 5th & Palm in the Oxnard National Historic District. For a guided experience, take a ride on a local favorite, the Holly Trolley! Be sure to keep an eye out for appearances from Santa and the holiday carolers for some added holiday cheer!

 

12. HOLIDAY HARBOR CRUISE
DECEMBER 7 & 21
The Scarlett Belle

Celebrate the holidays aboard Scarlett Belle‘s Riverboat Dinner Cruise. Cruise the tranquil waters of the Channel Islands Harbor, and enjoy the harbor holiday lights. Included with your harbor cruise ticket: hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dessert, and a drink ticket. Live musical performance with local guitarist Teresa Russell.

13.  55TH ANNUAL PARADE OF LIGHTS
DECEMBER 11

The Channel Islands Harbor will kick off the holidays with its 55th annual holiday Parade of Lights, themed “Jingle Jungle.” Entrants are asked to decorate their vessels based on their favorite holiday tunes. The event is scheduled from 10am to 8pm. The parade starts at 7 p.m.

Everyone is invited to enjoy a full day of holiday activities. Watch festively decorated boats in the parade while listening to carolers sing holiday songs. There will also be holiday arts and crafts vendors starting at 10 a.m.

The parade starts at 7 p.m. in front of Peninsula Park and heads to the Main Channel, turns at Kiddie Beach, loops in front of the launch ramp then heads back to Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club and repeats the route for a second run. The parade can be viewed from parks and walkways that line the route as well as from most Harbor restaurants. Boat charters are available for those who want to watch the parade from the water.

14. HOLIDAY IN THE PARK – Strathearn Historical Park
December 5, 2021

Strathearn Historical Park and Museum – 137 Strathearn Place

Historic buildings will be decorated with docents giving informal tours. Antique cars will be displayed. Santa available for pictures until 2PM.

Unique shopping of handmade crafts, wood toys and gifts in the Simi Store.

15. WILD LIGHTS & DISCO NIGHTS  – America’s Teaching Zoo 
November: 24th, 26th, 27th, 28th
December: 3rd – 5th, 10th & 11th, 16th – 23rd
6pm to 8:30pm – Last Entry is at 7:45pm

America’s Teaching Zoo shines bright this holiday season during the first ever holiday light event. WILD LIGHTS & DISCO NIGHTS will inspire a groovy energy as guests walk through a sparkling disco ball forest. Visit Ira the lion under the Lion’s Den Canopy of Lights! MOVE and GROOVE to the tunes in front of our INTERACTIVE light wall in our ARCTIC VIBES area. Join us on a themed night and come dressed to impress according to the theme. Check out the theme nights.

Explore the ZOO and see what the animals DO…at night!

17. VENTURA WINTER WINE WALK & HOLIDAY STREET FAIR
December 11, 2021

California’s largest Wine Walk and Street Fair returns! Sip, sing, and shop your way through a Holiday spirit-filled Downtown Ventura! Snowfall transforms Main St. into a Winter Wonderland!

From 12 PM – 8 PM, Main Street will be lined with hundreds of local vendors selling a wide variety of crafts and goods. There will be artists, non-profit organizations, crafters, commercial, and food/drink vendors.

Shop around while you enjoy live entertainment! You do not need a Wine Walk ticket for the Street Fair.

18.  HOLIDAY ON HIGH STREET – Moorpark
December 4, 2021

Every year during the holidays we light up the farm and bring the holiday spirit.  Admission to the farm is FREE but will have extra activities.  Come enjoy Christmas tree, horse rides, petting zoo, pick your own strawberry fields, and more.

21. HOLIDAY ROAD – AN IMMERSIVE HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE
December 3 -31

Get everyone together and gather around to celebrate the season! Enjoy the sights of our immersive walking trail. Get a bite to eat at the area’s best food trucks. For the grown-ups, enjoy a seasonal cocktail from our Holiday Bar. Don’t forget to get yourself a keepsake from the souvenir shop.

3. PHOTOS WITH SANTA – The Collections at RiverPark
Beginning November 20

Santa has marked his calendar to visit The Collection at RiverPark from the North Pole and will once again be available to meet with families to create special memories with keepsake photos that last for years to come. The holiday season isn’t complete without a picture with old St. Nick, so be sure to visit Santa’s Workshop located at 620 Collection Blvd. beginning Saturday, Nov. 20 at 12 p.m. Reservations are required for your Santa Experience and can be made online: https://amusemattebooksanta.com/the-collection/

The magic of the holiday season comes alive with a visit to Santa’s winter wonderland. Santa will be here starting November 18th and is located at Center Court. A visit with Santa is always free and photo packages are available for purchase.

5. SANTA PAWS PET PHOTO NIGHTS – The Collections at RiverPark
Nov. 23 and 30, Dec. 7, 14, 21
5 p.m.- 8 p.m.

Starting on Nov. 23, furry friends are invited to join in the fun every Tuesday evening at Santa Paws Pet Nights, sponsored by Pet Food Express. Our four-legged friends are part of the family and are also welcome to meet Santa himself with a reservation for a special photo.

6.  HOLIDAY ARTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL – Valley Cultural Foundation

TREE LIGHTING & HOLIDAY PARADES

1. TREE LIGHTING CELEBRATION – The Collections RiverPark
Wednesday, November 17, 7-8 p.m.

Kick off the season with an awe-inspiring Tree Lighting Celebration on Nov. 17 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Collection Park. This magical evening will showcase holiday entertainment provided by Music Freqs including a special performance of the Nutcracker from Ventura County Ballet Company, an extravagant tree lighting and a spectacular firework show.

2. ORCHARD COMMUNITY CHURCH  
November 28,  5-6:30PM

Kick off the Advent and Christmas season with our annual Tree Lighting tradition.  The fun free activities are available from 5-6:30 pm. The Tree Lighting program will begin at 6:30 pm with a short prayer, caroling, and the countdown to the lighting of the tree!  This year we welcome back many of the fun FREE activities that have been a tradition with the Tree Lighting event and a few new ones!

3.  CITY OF PORT HUENEME TREE LIGHTING   
November 30, 5:00PM

Please join us for our Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on Tuesday, November 30th starting at 5:00 PM at City Hall. We will have holiday music, coffee, hot chocolate, and desserts. At 5:30 PM the tree lighting ceremony will begin. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy holiday season!

4.  DOWNTOWN OXNARD TREE LIGHTING 
December 2, around 6:30PM

The annual lighting ceremony of Plaza Park’s historic pagoda and the tallest Christmas tree in Ventura County.

5.  SIMI VALLEY TOWN CENTER TREE LIGHTING
December 11, 6-7PM
Come join us for our Dec 11th Christmas Celebration!!!! All day activities include story time with Mrs. Claus, Holiday Circus, live music, Bounce Houses, and lots of Holiday Cheer!

6.  HOLIDAY MAST LIGHTING – MARITIME MUSEUM 
December 11,  6 – 7PM
The Channel Islands Maritime Museum is excited to continue its tradition at the Harbor; The Holiday Lighting of the 75-foot “Tallship Mast” in front of the museum.  The event will take place on December 11 at 6 p.m. before the start of the 55th annual Parade of Lights.  There will be carolers, sing-alongs, a visit from Santa and the official Lighting of the Mast, which will shine nightly through the Holiday Season.  EVERYONE is invited to this free, community event.

7. OXNARD CHRISTMAS PARADE
December 4, 2021

Enjoy festive marching bands, local school groups, floats, a visit from Santa and more at the annual Oxnard Christmas Parade on Dec. 4. With a theme like “The Sounds of Christmas,” the Oxnard Christmas parade is the perfect way to kick off the holidays and get into a festive mood. Enjoy a fanfare starring animated characters, marching bands, equestrian units, school groups, themed floats, and of course- Santa! Find a spot on the route running through A, 5th and C Streets in Downtown Oxnard.

HOLIDAY MUSIC AND THEATER

  1. CHRISTMAS MAGIC – MUSIC AND STORIES OF THE HOLIDAYS
    DECEMBER 03 – DECEMBER 12, 2021High Street Arts Center’s joyful holiday show returns in 2021, as teen and adult cast members from seasons past return to the stage to sing your favorite holiday songs and tell the stories behind them.

Cascia was born and raised in the Arizona heat. While receiving her Pre-Med degree at HIU in California, a blonde, surfing, skateboarding boy stole her heart.
