Welcome to our Ventura County “Mom to Know” series!
We are featuring moms right here in our local community to highlight the wonderful things they are doing as mothers, business owners, community members, and friends. If you would like to nominate someone to be featured in our Moms to Know series, contact us at [email protected] Each featured mom will be entered to win a single session with Pocket Chefs ($179 value). We are honored to feature our 2nd “Mom to Know” in Ventura County!
1. Tell us a little about yourself + your family.
Hi! I’m Meghan and I have an adorable 4.5 year old son named Cameron. We moved to Newbury Park last year and before that I’ve lived in Simi my entire life.
2. What do you do for a living?
I own In 2 On Consulting (@in2onconsulting ), a small business efficiency consulting firm. I help business owners streamline and document their processes so they can focus on their business instead of being stuck in the day to day hamster wheel.
3. What do you love about living in Ventura County?
I love living in Ventura County! It is not only beautiful and perfect weather but it’s so close to all that LA has to offer yet far enough away from the craziness of LA.
4. What are your favorite local things to do/places to go?
I love going to the various community parks and libraries with Cameron. We have so many awesome parks around and love finding new places to explore!
5. Is there a hidden gem in Ventura County you love?
Halo Salt Spa! That place is magical and incredible. I take Cameron and we sit in the salt room and play, connect and have an amazing 45 min mommy and Cam special time!
6. What do you do to reset and recharge?
I am honestly still working on finding best ways to do that in maintenance before I hit the burnout wall. I will say weekly therapy appointments has been a huge help in continuously resetting and refocusing. I highly recommend it to everyone! I also enjoy any chance I get to have chat with my girl friends. A good Netflix binge also has done my soul good.
7. How do you see yourself impacting our community?
Through my business I try to help bring tips and tricks to business owners and employees so they can feel better equipped to handle their day to day obligations. I have a passion for taking the overwhelm out of business ownership so you can focus on doing what you are amazing at. I am also working with the Ventura County Business Women group to help bring together the amazing powerhouse women we have in our area!
8. Brag on yourself! What are you proud of yourself about?
This is a tough one. But I’m really proud of my resilience. The last many years has been filled with hurdle after hurdle but I’ve made it through. This last year in particular has been the most challenging with dealing with the pandemic, being a single mom and running a business. I’ve come a long way with learning how to ask for help and actually accepting help (I struggled with that for years). I will say I could not have gotten through any of this on my own. I’m so thankful for my family, friends, church family at Real Life Simi Valley and all my clients!
