The days are getting warmer and the sun is out longer each day! With a little wishful thinking, summer is right around the corner! The idea of those sweet summer months can make any child crave the beach and waves! Wave Heart Surf Camp is here to provide your child with a summer they won’t forget. They focus on surfing, swimming and playing at the beach. If you are looking for your child to have fun, make friends and learn; Wave Heart Surf Camp is ready to play an important role in your child’s life as they learn to surf.
About Wave Heart Surf Camp
The business was started after the founder, Eric Cowen, had worked as a lead surf-instructor for various camps for over 15-years. After becoming the first grade teacher at Oak Grove School in Ojai, numerous families asked Eric to start a surf camp that provided a really positive, nurturing environment for kids. In addition to providing expert instruction for surfing and bodyboarding, they also put a focus on ocean conservation and help kids learn how to respect the ocean and care for it. Safety is also a big priority so they have a certified-EMT on staff and have a 5:1 camper to instructor ratio.
Curriculum
This camp is focused on surfing, swimming, and playing at the beach.
Our experienced instructors will support the following:
- Ocean safety + conservation
- Basic surf techniques
- Surfing etiquette
- Body boarding and swimming
- Safe time for play in and out of the water.
This is a great opportunity to spend time getting more familiar with our beautiful coast, and the power and fun of the ocean.
Camp Dates
Spring Break Camp: April 5-9 | 9am – 3pm | $380/camper
After School Camp: April 13 – June 3, every Tuesday and Thursday 3-6pm, and every Tuesday 2-5pm | $45/camper/day
Summer Camp Week 1: June 14 – 18, 2021 | 9am – 3pm
Summer Camp Week 2: June 21 – 25, 2021 | 9am – 3pm
Summer Camp Week 3: June 28 – July 2, 2021 | 9am – 3pm
Summer Camp Week 4: July 19 – 23, 2021 | 9am – 3pm
Summer Camp Week 5: July 26 – 30, 2021 | 9am – 3pm
Summer Camp Week 6: August 2 – 6, 2021 | 9am – 3pm
These camps range from $400 – $450/camper/week depending on how many weeks and children a family signs up.
