If you got mostly A’s:

Have a haunted evening!

Grab all the candy and popcorn, your closest friends or family (that can handle it), light some dripping candelabras and stream your favorite scary movies. Extra points if you have an intermission to tell your own ghost stories (extra EXTRA points for doing it around a campfire) and vote on who has the best, most terrifying!

If you got mostly B’s:

Have a Halloween Witches Brew

Invite your girls over for a Halloween style Witches Brew signature cocktail, spooky charcuterie boards and some Halloween games! Kick off with a Hocus Pocus trivia game and end with some Disturbia karaoke or rewind the Thriller video (or the famous 13 Going on 30 scene) and perfect your Thriller dance!

If you got mostly C’s:

Throw a Trick or Treat Party

Invite families over before nightfall for some fun before the candy hunting begins.  Have a few kid friendly crafts or activities like pumpkin carving, haunted gingerbread houses building, or popcorn ball making.  Make a couple of hearty fall soups for crockpots and slice some crusty bread for a warm, filling (and easy) dinner before you hit the streets.

If you got mostly D’s:

Plot a Murder Mystery

Couples in costumes will be given roles (you can get a murder mystery kit or get creative and make it up yourself) to play out over a fancy, but spooky candlelit dinner.  Think courses and cocktails that will help the characters play out the scenes that will reveal eventually who the killer is!  Be ready to get a little dramatic and have some fun till death by chocolate at dessert!

Keep it Simple, or Don’t!

Whichever Halloween party you plan, keep it as simple or as intricate as suits you best.  Maybe it brings you joy to plan a complex menu, gorgeous tablescape, and decorate the whole house.  If not, just a few simple decorations, vibey candles, menu items and activities might just make the event of the season for your nearest and dearest.

Gia Ilole
Gia is a native Californian who has lived all over the state from San Diego to Trinity County, plus Washington DC for a short time. She recently relocated to Ventura County with her family to build a compound property together with her sister’s family so that they could always share wardrobes and parenting responsibilities for their 5 combined children at home. Gia graduated from UCSB with a degree in Linguistics (which she thinks entitles her to make up words). It took her just three years, as she was eager to graduate early to go live with her long distance boyfriend and his toddler daughter at the time. That seemed to work out, as the boyfriend got promoted to husband years ago and her step-daughter promoted her to grandmother recently! Gia’s husband is from East Africa and runs their Bed and Breakfast in Tanzania from near and far. Gia is a Human Resources Director who has a major obsession with watermelon and eggnog lattes, depending on the season.
