If you give a mom a gift card….

You better make sure it’s inside a card where you tell her all the amazing things you love about her.

She’ll probably hug you and hug you, until you can’t breathe!

She will go straight to her wallet to put it away for safekeeping.

Going through her wallet will remind her of all the other gift cards she has stored there that she hasn’t used.

This will remind her of all the after holiday sells happening at stores.

Before you have a chance to sit down, she will grab your hand and lead you to the car.

Being in the car will remind her that she needs to clean out the old cheerios, diapers and sippy cups.

Seeing the dinosaur sippy cup will remind her that little Bobby needs a new one.

She’ll drive even faster to make sure she doesn’t miss the sale on sippy cups!

While stopped at a red light, she will remember all the red items she needs – apples, strawberries, pepperonis, OH and milk!

She will make a mental note of JUST the 4 things she needs at the store.

When you finally pull into the parking lot, she will make a comment that you didn’t wear a warm enough jacket….making a mental note to add a new jacket to her list.

Walking through the isles will make her want to take a selfie that she is shopping without her youngest kids #shoppingaloneattarget

She’ll see a friend walking behind her in the camera while taking the picture.

She will squeal with glee and talk and talk and talk with her friend, catching up on all of life.

After, she will zip through the isles, picking up item after item off the shelves.

Chances are she will load her cart with items for everyone except herself.

Which will bring her immense joy because she loves buying gifts for her loved ones.

As she’s checking out she will tell the check out clerk the sappy story of how she got the gift card.

And chances are she will use all the money on the gift card to buy gifts for everyone but herself.

She will walk to the car happy and content, with no gift cards in her wallet but a full, full heart.

OH AND 6 other bags of things NOT on her mental list!!! Dreaming about what she will buy next time she gets a gift card.
