How many self help books have we read…trying to find all the right ways to do something?

How to raise amazing children.

Steps to raise responsible adults.

Secrets to raise polite children.

How to be the best homeschool teacher and Mom.

You name it, there is probably some kind of self help book we have hoped for that is going to give us the magical answers to raise these children that have been entrusted to us. How will I ever be able to raise these kids? Am I qualified to do this? We wonder, “Am I Enough?”

THE PERFECT MOM

We all go through seasons in our lives, where the self doubt and negativity of the world around us take root in the deepest depths of our psyche. Does it come from the comparison trap? The infamous I wish statements that follow when viewing Mom X that seems to have it all together…or at least puts up an amazing front for all to see until she reaches the safety of the closed doors of her home. Have you ever said any of these to yourself?

I wish I had time at home to make the snacks for soccer practice like_____.

I wish I could sew my kids matching outfits for the family photo shoot like _______.

I wish my kids were honor roll students, so I can put a bumper sticker on my car like _____.

I WISH, I WISH, I WISH!!!

WHY DO WE DO THIS?

Why do we moms put such pressure on ourselves? Why do we continually compare ourselves to someone else and come up lacking? We were uniquely and wonderfully made. No two of us are the same, so why should our kids be like any other kids out there? Why do we create such impossible standards for ourselves?

WELL IT STOPS TODAY!

LET’S STOP THE NEGATIVE SELF TALK

Moms, we are stopping this negative self talk to ourselves today! We can do this! Why do we get so caught up in ourselves and what we can’t do versus what we can do. We are rocking this Mom role ladies!! Let’s not let the self doubt and naysayers around us tell us any differently. We have to put an end to the negative self talk

OUR KIDS ARE ALIVE

We love our kids and we are trying to be the best Mom we can be for our kids. Let’s look at the important things here. Do your kids have clothes to wear, food to eat and a roof over their head to keep them dry.  Looks like we are doing a pretty awesome job when you look at all that we are accomplishing. Most of you are probably doing that in addition to being a wife, teacher, daughter, sister, caretaker of parents and extended family and whatever other jobs and roles you are balancing throughout your day.

WE ARE DOING THE BEST THAT WE CAN

Do you wake up and think I am going to be a really bad Mom today? I want to see how badly I can mess my kids up today. No! We are doing the best we can each and every day. Do we mess up sometimes? Of course! Are we perfect? Of course Not! Far from it! Each and every day, we don’t wake up and wonder how are we going to fail at parenting today? We wake up, eager to be the very best Mom we can be for our kids. Some days we may not always get it right, but our kids will know that we love them and we are trying our best each and every single day. The same that we ask of them.

In conclusion, we are amazing, talented, smart and capable Moms. Do you need to hear this today?

YOU ARE ENOUGH!

I AM ENOUGH!

So starting tomorrow, let’s rise out of bed, stumble to the coffee maker and affirm to ourselves and each other that I AM ENOUGH!
