Are you missing the holiday season? Although Santa Claus may technically live at the North Pole, my daughter will tell you he’s at SkyPark at Santa’s Village. SkyPark at Santa’s Village has been nestled in the San Bernardino Mountains, just next door to Lake Arrowhead, since before Disneyland opened. Although it’s seen many changes through the years, the year-round winter charm remains. Best part? You can even stay over at Santa’s Village.
My family and I first visited SkyPark at Santa’s Village for the day before Mabel, my daughter, was one year old. We returned recently for an overnight and she cannot stop talking about it, even after the holidays. When Santa visited her preschool before Christmas, he mentioned the lack of snow for his sleigh in California. Mabel told him that there was plenty of snow at Santa’s Village!

SkyPark at Santa’s Village
While snow is common this time of year, SkyPark keeps it fun no matter the temperature. Some attractions may be closed but most are still available. Unlike the park’s earlier years with carnival-style rides, SkyPark takes advantage of the incredible outdoor surroundings amidst Santa’s Village. There are opportunities to mountain bike, hike, play on multiple playgrounds with the kiddos, and even try your hand at archery and axe throwing. Despite thinking I’d be excellent at the latter, I have failed miserably at each try. I bet my husband is happy, no?
SkyPark’s newest attraction is a great throwback to its history. The B Rail is a first-of-its-kind self-powered single-rider mountain bike suspended above the park on the historic 62-year-old “Bumble Bee Monorail” line. The unique ride gives park guests the feeling of riding a bike high above the park in the San Bernardino Mountains.
Other highlights for the winter season (through April 13th) include ice skating each weekend, a Saturday night Skate Party, and the Snow Quest Scavenger Hunt. While the Jolly Man in Red is at home at the North Pole until October, you may catch a glimpse of Jack Frost and other snowy-themed friends.
Staying at the AirStream Resot
As I mentioned, you can also stay at SkyPark. They offer a gorgeous campground for tent camping, RV hookups, and their unique SkyStream Resort. The resort offers six classic airstreams that are over 50 years old. They have been beautifully renovated and each offers a distinct theme to compliment your visit. We stayed in, appropriately, Camp Christmas.
Our unit was decked to the halls with cheery decor. Our sleep was great thanks to our cozy bed with a DreamCloud mattress. There was also an additional daybed making it ideal for a family of three. The airstream had a mini fridge and coffee maker in the room. Just across is an adorable, converted school bus that acts as a kitchenette with a microwave, plates, and utensils.
Each unit has a fire pit and tables out front so you can BBQ if the weather is right. The airstreams do not have bathrooms. Just steps away are gorgeous private restrooms with a shower and amenities. The water got extra hot for us and Mabel had no trouble going an evening without a personal bathroom.

Plan Your Visit
As far as dining during your stay, I did my usual “mom haul” of snacks and groceries plus we ate at SkyPark. Santa’s Village offers numerous food options including pizza and BBQ. Plus, plenty of hot cocoa. If food allergies are a concern, several options are available.
My family and I love making memories at SkyPark at Santa’s Village. It’s such a great place to get away from it all yet still be within a few hours of home. Learn more and plan a visit HERE.
