Sensational Spring Projects

The sun is glowing, and the days are longer. Spring sings the joyful melodies, the showers and shines, of our early seasonal shift. The fleeting rains of March are starting to bloom in colorful arrays like rainbows.
Easter, Earth Day and the coming of Mother’s Day and Teachers Appreciation week offer opportunities to explore your creativity and turn one of these simple Spring projects into the perfect gift.

You’re the Director: Spring Shots

Let’s use those sensational Spring showers as inspiration; look for your rainbow. Take pictures of things in your natural environment to create a colorful collage using all colors of the rainbow. This project is great for all ages and can be done in your backyard or out on a family hike.
Frame, Gift, or Display.

In the mood for something with a little more movement? We all have been keeping safe at home and helping make a difference. Now, let’s get outside for some of your favorite fresh air activities.

Energizer Bunny: Sport Shorts

Surfing, biking, hiking, running, jumping, martial arts, soccer, baseball, basketball, skateboarding…

Create your own “Sport Short”.  Take a photograph , draw a picture, post a short video and let everyone know what makes your activity so fun!

Earth Day: Seed Spreaders

More of a green thumb? We got you covered! Make seed spreaders by using your leftover plastic Easter eggs, egg cartons and store bought or collected seeds. This project is perfect for little hands and requires very little preparation or process. Use wet dirt to mix the seeds and form into small balls that can be transferred into the plastic eggs or an egg carton. Dry in indirect sunlight, we don’t want to damage those seeds.  Learn the importance of habitat and try planting your product on different soils, sunlight, and water sources.

Earth Day: Recycled Artwork

April 22, 2021 is the 51st Anniversary of Earth Day.

Create an original piece of art celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day!

What is EARTH DAY?

On April 22, 1970, 20 million Americans took to the streets, college campuses and hundreds of cities to demand a new way forward for our planet. Every year, millions of people around the world celebrate and educate about the Earth on this day.  By taking simple, everyday steps we can shrink our carbon footprint and see the tiny tracks of our future generations.

Create a piece of art out of trash or recyclables: you can use trash you’ve found at the beach, old mail, DVDs, records, beverage containers, boxes…

A Sensational Spring

That’s it! I hope your family enjoys a spring project together. Have a sensational Spring!
