‘Tis the season to dash through the snow with the kids! Oh wait! There isn’t any snow in Ventura County.  Well, problem solved at Snow N Glow Ventura!

But before you start the car and head over to Snow N Glow Ventura, I’ve got a few pro MOM tips for you, as well as a run down of what you can expect.

What Comes with Snow N Glow Entry

Unlimited snow tubing, 1 million + light display, unlimited carousel rides, free visits with Santa and friends, live entertainment, and access to fire pits for roasting s’mores.

That is what was listed on my digital ticket, but I experienced even more with my kids.  When you enter the main hall, there’s plenty to do besides snow tubing.  You’re first met with a dazzling display of arched lights perfect for snapping pics and video of the fam as they walk through.

If you came dressed to impress, you’ll be glad to know that the photo with Santa is set up at the front of the hall.  Soon after, you’ll come to the cookie decorating booth, where one has the opportunity to purchase a cookie decorating kit.  Plenty of picnic tables and kid sized tables and chairs are nearby, so that you can frost and sprinkle your cookies with ease.

PRO MOM TIP:: Use this opportunity of your children seeing Santa as a great holiday card photo op!

At the center of the hall is an enormous Christmas Tree that nearly touches the ceiling of the large warehouse.  My kids and I were lucky enough to run into The Grinch himself as we were walking past the tree.  Another adorable family photo taken!

Surrounding the tree are more booths for purchasing souvenirs, s’mores kits, hot cocoa, and adult beverages.  I was also pleasantly surprised to see a picnic table with board games for the family to enjoy, as well as face painting adjacent to the tree.  If you have a child who is reluctant to go snow tubing, they can easily be occupied doing other fun activities.

Tips for Tubing

Everyone and their mom is literally there for the snow tubing, so I suggest hitting the attraction first and early to avoid extended wait times. It’s at the very end of the main hall by the way.

PRO MOM TIP::  Come early and hit the sledding attraction first to avoid long lines.

It’s also important to know that the tubes are hard for younger children to handle.  Be prepared to assist them upstairs.  If at all possible, come with another adult or capable big kid to lend a hand.

Children must be 2 yrs + in order to ride a snow tube with an adult.

If you plan on doing lots of tubing, bring snow pants or an extra pair of pants.  I wore jeans and was fine, but noticed that my pants were becoming damp after 3-4 times down the slope.  They had gotten wet from rubbing against the tube as I maneuvered it up and down the attraction.  Shoes with tread would also be advantageous.

PRO MOM TIP::  Bring a change of pants and socks for the car ride home just in case the kiddos get wet during tubing.

The Outside Area

Roast some marshmallows for s’mores (available for purchase) at the complimentary fire pits, ride the carousel, or grab a bite to eat from Rock n Roll Pizza or Tasty Sauce.  We tried the pulled pork mac-n-cheese and were not disappointed.  Wow!

Also, outside are beautifully lit private igloos which can be reserved by the hour.  Each one has comfortable seating, its own fire pit and more chairs.  Some even had a real snow man for the family to enjoy.

Lastly, is the enchanting light display.  My children had a blast running under the lights and pointing out the different figures.  There was even a bubble machine to imitate snow at one point.  We took so many pictures!  Children in strollers would definitely enjoy the lights.  It’s a great way to end the evening.

PRO MOM TIP:: Head through the light display at the end of your time.  The display ends near the parking lot and makes it easy to head home.

Additional Tips

Wear comfortable shoes as there is a good amount of walking from the parking lot to the main hall.  Be advised that the restrooms are located beyond the food trucks.  My kids had to go potty as soon as we arrived and I wished that they’d gone one more time before we left home.  Moms, you know.

Snow N Glow Ventura was a wonderful and wholesome family event.  My children ages 15, 10, and 8 years old left asking if we could go back again soon.  It was the perfect experience that they needed to make the holiday season merry and bright.

Make sure to dash on over to Snow N Glow Ventura soon!
