Mother’s Day is a special day where we get to show Mother’s and Mother-like figures, just how much we love and appreciate them. Yes, the beautiful bouquet and homemade card are always appreciated and should still be given, but why not get Mom an extra something that she will be excited and happy to use in her day to day? Below are a few gift ideas that won’t end up in the trash after a few days or be put in the donation pile in just a few short months.

New Water Bottle

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, chances are you are wanting only ice cold water… for some reason it just tastes better. A new, cute tumbler is the perfect gift. In my opinion, one with a straw helps my water intake, but as long as it’s cute and convenient, I am happy! But fair warning, your child may want to drink out of your cup more often than their own, because everyone knows Mommies water always tastes better!

Cozy Robe

After running around with the kiddos all day, nothing feels quite as luxurious as putting on a warm, cozy robe after a hot shower. The robe needs to be just right. Not too short, securely closes and a perfect blend of material. If mom has a worn out, tattered robe that she wears around so she doesn’t have to change into clothes, it’s time to get her a new one!

Red Light Therapy Mask

As a busy mom who is putting others’ needs before her own, it’s nearly impossible to get away for a spa day or a well deserved facial. And if you do, the guilt of being away often hangs over our heads. So let’s bring a relaxing skincare treatment to her. Our skin can take a beating after pregnancy and during postpartum. Red light therapy is said to help reduce wrinkles, fine lines, acne and dark spots!

Air Fryer

An air fryer is a total game changer when it comes to cooking. A quick and easy way to get dinner on the table with out making a million dishes. Pop in a few potatoes, some cut up broccoli, or a piece of chicken and you are well on your way to feeding those hungry bellies. Anything that has a set it and forget it method, is something worth having as a mom.

Espresso/Coffee Machine

Those early morning wake ups, the late bedtimes, the multiple wakings in the night…all call for a caffeinated Momma. It’s not always easy to get over to the nearest coffee shop and who wants to pay $5 dollars for a latte? There are so many fun and interesting espresso and coffee drink recipes that you can try at home with an espresso machine. It may take a little practice to master a perfect latte but that is part of the fun. And having the ability to make a caffeinated beverage at your fingertips is always a little reassuring during those especially tough days.

No matter the gifts, Mom appreciates the thoughtfulness behind the act, especially on Mother’s Day. To be acknowledged, for all of the hard work we do on a day to day basis, and the mental load we carry, is the best gift we could ask for… but a cozy new robe doesn’t hurt either!

Mackenzie Robitaille
Mackenzie is a full time working mom to one sweet little boy and soon to be baby girl. She was born and raised in Santa Barbara, CA where she met her high school sweetheart. After 10 years together, they finally decided to tie the knot and have now been married for 5 years. Mackenzie and her husband moved to Ventura in the summer of 2020, after living in Long Beach for 6 years, finishing up school and beginning their careers. They had dreamt of moving back, closer to family with the hope to start a family of their own soon after. On the first day of 2022, Mackenzie welcomed her son James into the world. As a family of three, they enjoy trips to local libraries, early morning muffin making, warm days at the beach or pool and Saturday morning farmers market dates with their friends. While juggling being a full time Marketing Director and Mommy, Mackenzie finds joy in the little things; a warm cup of coffee, a brand new book from the local bookstore, a walk around the neighborhood.
